Derek Miller
Derek Miller is a Professor of English and the Chair of Theater, Dance & Media at Harvard. He is grateful to have been involved with TDM since its founding. His research focuses primarily on the relationship between art and industry. His scholarship includes a book-length history of the development of copyright for the performing arts, data-driven histories of Broadway and nineteenth-century American theater, and, more recently, play publishing in the United States since 1945. He came to theater as a young actor, and brings years of practical experience to his study of the performing arts. In his spare time, he blogs about democracy, reads fiction, coaches Little League, and completes a weekly cryptic crossword.
