What inspires you as an artist and creative?

I am inspired by life and people around me. Also, lots of art. When I design, my imagination reminds me of things that happened to me, or places and people I saw.  When I design, I am inspired by the creativity within the group of people I'm working on each project, but also by the images that form in my head when I hear the music or read a text.

What excites you about this TDM production?

I was impressed by the way that TDM got fully involved and put all their resources into making this wonderful production. The level of professionalism, everyone's dedication and hard work will show somewhere in the production and I am sure the performance will have a future life beyond this short run.

What has it been like collaborating with the team on this project? What’s been a memorable moment so far on this production?

The creative team on this production is very special! (Kate, Linda, Sarah, Caitlin, Tom and Sxip) The day we all met for a Research and Development workshop, I realized very fast that everyone there was extremely talented and skilled. We basically made a fast version of the entire show and mockups of all puppets, sets, and costumes in two days. It was amazing! And in terms of memorable, seeing the students so excited and fascinated by every interaction we had with them. Their faces lit up every time one of us explained little details of our craft.

What projects are you working on next?

My next projects are: in New York City (that's where I live) - designing sets for a Commedia Dell'arte show with high school students, an installation for a site specific environment in collaboration with philosopher/visual artist/storyteller  (Marc Lafia), and sets and costumes for my close collaborator Alex Tatarsky and their show named (Sign Feld) Sad Boys in Harpy Land. at Abrons Arts Center. Also started to work on an opera with puppets which will take place in Boston next fall.
