TDM presents a Senior Thesis Production: Chinatown, My Chinatown, a new one-woman play by Shirley Chen.
Chinatown, My Chinatown is a one-woman one-act following four contestants vying for the Miss Chinatown USA 1966 crown. Loosely based on oral history interviews by real contestants and San Francisco Chinatown community members, Chinatown, My Chinatown screams, skips, and cheers alongside four fictional eighteen/nineteen/twenty-year-olds who stumble into the enchanting and disturbing glamor that impatiently awaits a lovely girl in a cheongsam.
