TDM’s BIPOC Play Discussion Group meets to discuss plays by Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color playwrights, whose works are all too often left off of the syllabi at institutions of higher education. The February play will be Gente del Sol by Santi Tonauac Castro.

	About Gente del Sol:

Valeria and Leonardo are at a crossroads. Leonardo, afraid of losing his relationship with Valeria, seeks professional help. Unsatisfied with western medicine, Leonardo seeks a second opinion from someone that can speak to Mexican culture and indigenous practices. Valeria does not feel capable of leaving Leonardo in his time of need but finds herself falling for Fern. This new play by Santiago Tonauac Castro uses magical realism to explore the intricacies of personal identity, sexuality, and interracial relationships.

Copies of the script are available on the New Play Exchange website. HOLLIS provides free access to the New Play Exchange script database with your HarvardKey.

Register today and join us on February 23rd at 2 PM!
