 At this time, Theater, Dance &amp; Media does not offer any programs beyond undergraduate studies.

 The A.R.T. Institute at Harvard University is graduate theater training at the award-winning American Repertory Theater (currently on hiatus). [Please visit here](https://americanrepertorytheater.org/art-institute) for more information about the A.R.T. Institute.

 In addition, the [Harvard Extension School](https://www.extension.harvard.edu/) may offer courses in dramatic arts.

 



 

 

 



###    Are there any TDM summer programs available for high school students?  expand\_more  

 TDM does not offer any TDM-specific summer program for high school students at this time. However, the [Secondary School Program](https://www.summer.harvard.edu/high-school-programs/secondary-school-program) at Harvard may offer courses in the dramatic arts during the summer.

###    Are there opportunities to do musical theater in the concentration?  expand\_more  

 Absolutely! Many student productions are in musical theater, and the American Repertory Theater regularly stages musical theater productions (many of which go on to Broadway) offering students multiple opportunities for engagement. In addition, there are several courses each year in musical theater, including some offered by extraordinary visiting lecturers.

 Unfortunately, tours of Farkas Hall are not available at this time for the public. 



 

 

 



###    Can study abroad courses count for concentration?  expand\_more  

 Courses in theater, dance, and media offered at the Harvard Summer School may count for concentration credit with the approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). Courses approved for Harvard College study abroad credit by the [Office of International Education](http://oie.fas.harvard.edu/home) will be considered for concentration credit in Theater, Dance &amp; Media with the approval of the DUS. Students should confer with the DUS before leaving for their study abroad and present course syllabi and relevant written work upon return.

 Yes, concentrators may count one Freshman Seminar toward their degree requirements.

 No, there is no audition process or separate application process to study Theater, Dance &amp; Media. Students declare their concentration in the fall of their sophomore year.

Enrolled undergraduates declare their concentration (major) in the fall of their sophomore year (there are no requirements to declare). ###    What do you think differentiates Harvard's TDM program from other programs at other institutions?  expand\_more  

 Harvard emphasizes and offers a liberal arts-based curriculum, rather than a conservatory-style program. Students can take a variety of [courses](https://courses.my.harvard.edu) in a range of fields in addition to TDM courses. TDM provides opportunities to learn from faculty and visiting lecturers, as well as work with professionals through the [TDM Productions](/productions). TDM also has a close partnership with the [American Repertory Theater](https://americanrepertorytheater.org), with A.R.T. faculty teaching a number of TDM courses and advising students.
