Museums freeze time. Music melts it. In this artist talk, Jace Clayton (also known as DJ /rupture) will discuss his recent work, which actively flows between these binaries. The talk will move from his roots as a DJ to his recent solo exhibitions, The Great Salt (Harvard Art Museums, 2018-2019) and White Noise as a Call to Responsibility (Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden, 2019-2020).
ABOUT DJ /rupture
Jace Clayton is an artist and writer based in New York, also known for his work as DJ /rupture. His book Uproot: Travels in 21st Century Music and Digital Culture was published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This fall his is teaching a seminar on interdisciplinary temporality in performance at Harvard University. Clayton’s exhibition White Noise as a Call to Responsibility is on view at Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden from August 23, 2019 through May 24, 2020
