Ronald K. Brown, Founder and Artistic Director of EVIDENCE, A Dance Company, will lead a contemporary dance master class introducing students to the various dance techniques that are incorporated in the vocabulary of Ronald K. Brown/ EVIDENCE, A Dance Company. The class will begin with meditation and floor work that includes stretching and mind body centering exercises with an emphasis on alignment, rhythm and using the body to express ideas and themes: strength, prayer, and celebration, and will conclude with phrases across the floor that use influences from western modern dance as well as traditional and social dances from West Africa, the Caribbean, and the U.S. 

This class is designed for inter-generational participants with a wide range to no dance experience. Participants must be age 18 or over. Observers welcome

Participation is free and open to the Boston dance community. Due to limited class capacity, online registration is required for both participants and observers.


Registration is first-come, first-served, with priority given to Harvard University undergraduate students.

This class is offered as part of the Harvard Dance Center Spring 2018 Master Class Series, supported in part by the Office for the Arts (OFA) and the Provostial Fund for the Arts and Humanities at Harvard University.
