**Mike Reiss ’81**, a former head writer for *The Simpsons*, a show for which he has won four Emmy Awards, will be in discussion with students about his work as a TV and book writer. His new book, *[Springfield Confidential](https://www.harpercollins.com/9780062748041/springfield-confidential/),* is a humorous look at the legendary TV series. As a student at Harvard, Reiss served as president of *[The Harvard Lampoon](https://www.harvardlampoon.com/)*. His books for children include *How Murray Saved Christmas*, *Santa Claustrophobia* and *The Boy Who Looked Like Lincoln*, all illustrated by David Catrow. This event, which is co-sponsored by the Office for Career Services, [Theater, Dance & Media,](/)and the [Office for the Arts](https://ofa.fas.harvard.edu/), is free to students but requires an RSVP.
