## Learn more about Theater, Dance & Media

Any current Harvard undergraduate student interested in concentrating in TDM is encouraged to first attend an info session to learn more about concentrating. TDM hosts concentration information sessions for first-years in early spring and for sophomores in early fall, ahead of Concentration Declaration Day. These info sessions offer an overview of the program, concentration requirements, and an opportunity for prospective concentrators to meet with TDM faculty and current concentrators. Info sessions are only open to current Harvard students. For further information, reach out to <tdmdus@fas.harvard.edu>.

First years are encouraged to check out TDM's [Exploratory Pathways](/exploratory-pathways). Learn more about the variety of concentrations and secondary fields through the [Advising Programs Office](https://advising.college.harvard.edu/academic-planning-for-students/concentrations-and-secondaries/).

Note: Auditions are not required to declare Theater, Dance & Media, and the program does not have a separate admissions process. Students can begin declaring TDM starting in the first semester of their sophomore year.

Prospective Harvard students: All prospective Harvard applicants must apply to Harvard College following the procedures listed on the [Admissions Office website](https://college.harvard.edu/admissions). All admissions-related questions should be directed to the Admissions Office.

## Declaring Theater, Dance & Media

Sophomores, ready to declare TDM as your concentration? Juniors and Seniors, want to transfer into TDM? All students should follow these steps:

### 1. Review TDM course requirements

Review TDM’s concentration requirements by looking at the [TDM course requirements](/requirements) or the [Harvard College Handbook for Students.](https://handbook.college.harvard.edu/)

An overview of the different [academic programs at Harvard](https://registrar.fas.harvard.edu/academic-programs#double) is available through the Harvard Registrar's Office.

### 2. Complete TDM Concentration Plan of Study

Draft an eight-term plan of study outlining the courses that you plan to take to fulfill your degree requirements. If you're not sure what some parts of your plan of study might be, feel free to leave blanks and bring it for discussion with the TDM advisor. While this plan is non-binding, it serves as a useful tool to explore and understand the balance of your studies.

### 3. Meet with a TDM advisor with your Plan of Study

Make an appointment with someone from TDM's advising team. Any student declaring TDM must meet with the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies or Academic Program Manager. At this meeting, you’ll review the plan of study, approve the concentration declaration, and discuss your interests further. The advisor can suggest appropriate courses and direct you to faculty members with allied interests as additional advisors in the concentration.

The advisor guides you through concentration requirements, helping you make informed decisions about both the sequence and the distribution of your courses, pushes to expand your understanding of the artistic process, and consults with you about your roles in TDM’s theater and dance productions.

For those considering a double concentration in Theater, Dance & Media and English, students are strongly encouraged to pursue a joint concentration in both fields.

Meet with someone from TDM's advising team by contacting <tdmdus@fas.harvard.edu>.
